If you do not like XMPP then you can use the IRC at this domain or the IRC webchat at QwebIRC WebChat
Please note that there is currently not a bridge between XMPP and IRC, They are two completely separate services.

You can also connect using a desktop chat client such as http://pidgin.im/ to the xmpp and IRC chats. Pidgin also supports AIM, MSN, ICQ, Yahoo and much more. Use one chat program for them all.
